BIOGRAPHY

|
A versatile writer and performer from Toronto, ON, Laura Nikifortchuk has just wrapped producing and hosting “Laura’s Laugh Library,” a weekly comedy night at Hemingways in Yorkville. Now living in New York, she hosts and co-produces, ‘Danny’s Upstairs’ a weekly show produced by renowned actor Danny Aiello.
Laura has written for a number of organizations including L(earn)2, Guardian Entertainment, Revolution Earth Productions and the Rock Bottom sketch comedy troupe. She has also assisted with Public Relations for the Canadian Comedy Awards.
Laura’s television and film appearances include George A. Romero’s “Bruiser” and “The Buzz” on the Comedy Network. Numerous live performances include Second City, Yuk-Yuks, Playbar (U.K.), The Laugh Resort, Gotham, Carolines, The Improv, Stand Up NY and Rascals, NJ (Montclair & Cherry Hill- Hosted New Years Eve 2006) Charitable involvement includes annual appearances at the Gilda Club and Easter Seals.
Laura’s education includes a diploma from George Brown in General Arts and Science, as well as a diploma from Humber College in Comedy: Writing and Performance. She is also a graduate of the prestigious Second City’s Conservatory Program and had returned to the Education Dept. as an instructor of Improv, Problem Solving, and Introduction to Communication until her move to New York in 2006.
