Jamille Harley has had big dreams of being a household name in comedy since growing up as a kid in Indianapolis, Indiana. After being exposed to comedy legends such as Richard Pryor and Bill Cosby, he decided to pursue his own dream of being a stand-up comedian. He started out with the stage name “Jmeat,” which was a shortened version of a childhood nickname “Jmeatloaf.” After hearing people mispronounce the name, he decided to drop it and go by his given name of Jamille Harley. He first hit the stage in 2004 at Mike Cowherd’s Labor Day Live Explosion, one of Indiana’s most popular events. The mixture of nerves and 90 degree weather almost made him shy away from the stage, but the passion to perform won out. Jamille did his first set and the crowd loved him and he hasn’t looked back.

Jamille decided to pack up his belongings after graduating from Indiana State University and moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 2006. The move has been good. He has been seen on CNN, Comcast on Demand, and was a participant in the North Carolina Comedy Arts festival. In 2011 Jamille was a featured comedian on the Bob and Tom Radio Show. In early 2008, Jamille had his first taste of performing internationally at the Great Canadian Laugh Off, one of the biggest comedy competitions in Canada. May 16th 2013 Jamille was interviewed and won a feature spot in the New York Daily News Paper. The dream continues and the experiences are getting better as Jamille looks forward to expanding and sharing his comedy with the world. Look out; Jamille Harley is coming to a television near you!
