Long before Amy graced the stage of a comedy club she was performing as a musician. A singer and pianist since the age of two and also an accomplished guitarist, Amy eventually earned her B.A. in classical music from the prestigious Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey.
Ultimately, Amy decided music was not her calling and hearkened back to the advice of her first grade teacher, Ms. Nickel: Amy, you should become a comedian& now go to the principals office. After a lengthy stint in the principals office, and a couple years working as a temp, a waitress, a dog walker, a luggage salesperson, a boarding school dorm mother, a boy choir manager and a behavior modification specialist for autistic adults, she decided to check out the Minnesota comedy scene. She spent six years working in Minneapolis/St Paul as a comedian, theatre and commercial actor, sketch writer and improv teacher and performer before fleeing to sunny L.A.
In only three years in L.A., Amy has established herself as one of the hottest up-and-coming comedians in the U.S. She was a finalist in the NBC/Laugh Factory Latino and Asian American Open Mic Competition and CAs Funniest Female Competition where she won 4th place...thats right, 4th place. She tours clubs and colleges throughout the US and in Hollywood, she is a regular at The Comedy Store, The Laugh Factory and The Improv and she produces and performs in her own stand up showcase, Chop-SHTICK Comedy at the famous Friars of Beverly Hills.
Amy has appeared on the ABC, Game Show Network, Comedy Central, SiTV, VH1, AZN, MTV K, AZN and The Tom Joyner Show. She has been a guest on All Comedy Radio and can be heard regularly on Sirius Satellite Radio and XM Satellite Radio. Amy just realeased her first CD called, "I Failed Math" and is busy pitching and producing several projects for television.
