Never content sitting still, Ellen started performing in plays at the age of 4. It was the neighborhood production of The Wizard of Oz. Ellen Played The Mayor Munchkin. But when Auntie Em, played by a 6 year old who'd had too much sugar, threw up and went home, Ellen knew that the show had to go on. She took on the role of Auntie Em, and greeted Dorothy on her journey back from Oz. But people were laughing. A lot. She got through it , and asked the stagemanager (owner of the garage/stage), "why were they laughing?" "Because you were still wearing your eyeliner moustache from playing Mayor Munchkin "!! But it was too late. Ellen had been bitten by the bug. Her performance career was nurtured through her Long Island upbringing. She participated in Chorus, Jazz Choir, the annual musical,Tournament of Plays, and the New York State Summer School for the Arts. In college, Ellen majored in Theatre Performance and earned her Fine Arts degree. She went on to study at the Burt Reynolds Institute for Theatre Training, where in addition to being a resident Equity company member, she learned the (E True Hollywood) story of the making of the movie 'Deliverance'. Ellen has performed as a professional actor in commercials, musicals, Shakespeare, and Improvisation. She is presently performing stand-up comedy in New York City. Check out my homemade website at:
